Since the COVID pandemic, we have been searching for a perfect vacation spot that is approachable, safe, secluded and very importantly, AMAZING. Voila! Villa Habu is located on a private island situated in the Jaisamand Lake (Rajasthan), 2nd largest man made lake in India and 3rd largest in the world. Don't worry about crowds - this place is 1 hour 21 mins away from Udaipur.

Location

This property is situated on a hill top on a small private island. If you're looking for a secluded and safe getaway during the COVID-19 pandemic, it doesn't get better than an isolated island. The entrance gives this property experience an exciting amuse-bouche. We took a 10 min boat ride from Jaisamand town to reach Villa Habu.

*This place may be a challenge for differently abled people as there is a short climb up.

Luxury

If you are a digger for modern, minimalist architecture, this is your calling. This place is brand new and was opened to public only in 2020. It's been designed by Red Brick Design Studio and has won several architectural awards and accolades.

The panoramic views of the expansive lake offer the perfect setting for a sunset and sunrise. The views are especially charming from the infinity pool and we made it a point to splash in everyday by 5.30 pm until sunset. Most independent villas don't offer great service or cooked food. But you'll be pampered with scrumptious, 3 course, home-cooked meals! Do try the Rajasthani Thali, malpua and the mini pizzas at high tea !

Customer Service

You may have been to a lot of properties like this all across the globe. However, the Villa Management Team steals away the thunder! We do not think anything can ever beat Rajasthani hospitality (special mention to Mr. Virendra and Ram Lal). The team was very perceptive, would never say no to anything and seemed to be at the right place and the right time ! Now that we are back, terribly missing Nizz special Cappuccino and the Shrikhand (it's an Indian delicacy made from hung yogurt, saffron, cardamom, etc.). We don't think we can get this anywhere else - because it was made with love <3

Best Time to Visit & How to Book?

Anytime from July - February is a great time to visit. Although, if you do not want to miss the pool, you may avoid the cooler months. The owner tells us that the whole property is lovely during rains :)
